Article Processing Charges

The Article Processing Charge (APC) for an article accepted for publication in the Saudi Journal of Emergency Medicine (SJEMed) is SAR 920 (approximately EUR 225), plus applicable tax. Publication is subject to meeting the journal's editorial standards and agreement to publish under a Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 licence.

APCs are payable only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication. No APC is payable at submission, during initial editorial screening or during peer review. Payment does not influence editorial decisions or guarantee acceptance. APCs support editorial, peer-review, production and open-access hosting costs, which allows published work to be read freely online.

Prices and Currency

The standard charge is set in Saudi riyals (SAR 920). The euro figure is given for convenience and is approximate; the amount invoiced is the SAR price, converted at the payment provider's rate where a payment is made in another currency. Applicable tax is additional where required.

Discounts and Waivers

SJEMed does not offer APC discounts or waivers.

Post-Publication Correction Fees

Corrections During Author Proofs: Corrections requested and completed during the author proof stage, before publication, are made without an additional correction fee.

Post-Publication Correction Processing Fee: EUR 150 per approved request. Once an article has been published, any author-requested correction is subject to editorial assessment and a processing fee of EUR 150 per approved correction request. This includes corrections to author names, affiliations, article text, scientific information, data, tables, figures, captions and publication metadata. The fee reflects the additional editorial and production work involved, which may include updating the article's PDF, HTML and XML files, publication metadata and records supplied to external databases. Editorial approval is required, and payment must be completed before an approved correction is processed. Payment does not guarantee that a proposed correction will be approved.

Expressions of Concern and Retractions: No fee is charged for issuing an expression of concern or a retraction. These are editorial actions taken to protect the integrity of the scholarly record and are handled independently of any author-requested correction fee.

Reporting Scientific Errors: Authors who identify a substantive error in a published article must inform the Editorial Office promptly. Reporting and editorial assessment of such concerns are not conditional on payment of the correction fee, and the journal retains independent authority to consider an expression of concern, retraction or other appropriate action.
